
Last Tuesday, the Turkish Ambassador to Bangladesh Mustafa Osman Turan formally handed over eight ICU ventilators to TMSS Medical College and Rafatullah Community Hospital in Bogura. All of the ventilators installed with Turkey’s overall support and will be utilized to treat patients on life support.
Prof. Dr. Hosne-ara Begum, the Founder and Executive director of TMSS, presided over the transfer event. In his statement as chief guest, the ambassador stated that Bangladesh and Turkey have a long history of friendship. The globe is going through a difficult period right now. Even in such a scenario, Turkey is contributing to development efforts of this brotherly country. In the future, the two countries may collaborate on development through exchanging technical information. He mentioned that TMSS is working around the country as well as delivering health services through to the people at the grassroots level through their medical facilities. He expressed interest in pursuing development initiatives in various fields with TMSS by providing support through the ministry of finance/external resources department of the government of Bangladesh.
Muhammad Nasis Sulaiman, country head and regional manager of Islamic Development Bank (ISDB) RH Dhaka, Sevki Mert Baris, coordinator of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and others spoke as special guests. Dr. Md. Matiur Rahman, deputy executive director of TMSS, gave the event’s welcoming address. Professor Dr. Maudud Hossain Alamgir Pavel, executive consultant for the TMSS health sector, delivered the entire program. Doctors, officials of various departments of the hospital, members of TMSS board of directors, senior officers of various departments, consultants and advisors attended the event.
